strategy

The enduring success of our nation depends on our ability to defeat terrorism, create stable financial markets, secure a cost-effective energy supply, develop a competitive workforce, build a 21st century infrastructure and ensure an efficient health care delivery system.

The role of markets is to do these things efficiently.  The role of government is to make sure they get done.

An effective government can spark new industries, cure disease, explore galaxies, inspire peace, spread freedom and lay the foundation for global prosperity.  An incompetent government can start wars, distort markets, devastate the environment, destroy freedom, and stifle human potential.  Whether corrupt, inept, or merely confused, our government leaders are failing at the job we have given them – to direct and manage those responsibilities best administered collectively.

Consumed by ideology rather than ideas and rhetoric instead of results, elected officials from both parties seem more concerned about their own political futures than with competently addressing our common challenges. Only by drastically increasing the relative power of credible solutions in the public debate will we be able to implement the policies we need to resume our country’s forward progress.

The Agenda Project’s goal is to build a powerful, intelligent, well-connected political movement capable of identifying and advancing rational, effective ideas in the public debate and in so doing to ensure our country’s enduring success.
