Wall Street Stock Strategists Almost All Bullish

With the market down more than 5% and signs of an economic slowdown, you might think that maybe Wall Street strategists would be paring back their forecasts for the market this year.

According to Bespoke Investment Group, the vast majority of strategists still see the market rising the rest of the year.

On average, Wall Street strategists expect a 9% gain in the S&P 500 by the end of the year to 1402. Only three strategists’ forecasts fall significantly below that average estimated gain, and only two see the S&P falling this year.

What’s more, this year-end target of roughly 1400 has held more or less steady since the year began — it’s higher, in fact, than it was in December.
