Insulin Spritz Shows Promise for People With Early Signs of Alzheimer's

A daily dosage of insulin nasal spray has had a positive impact on improving the memory of moderate Alzheimer's sufferers.

A study published Tuesday in the Archives of Neurology found preliminary evidence that spraying insulin deep into the nose could help delay the onset of Alzheimer's disease.



The study led by Suzanne Craft of the Veterans Affairs Puget Sound Health Care System was carried out on a group of 104 patients that either had moderate Alzheimer's or a mild cognitive impairment (MCI).
